Ciprian Cucu has a PhD in statistics and cybernetics and is a lecturer at the University of Alba Iulia, where he teaches computer science and researches the spread of disinformation online. 

He co-founded the "Apulum Forum" Association, dedicated to promoting civic culture and critical thinking among young people. He has been an expert in media literacy and combating misinformation since 2019. In recent years he has coordinated several projects on monitoring and analysis of false information and contributed to several researches in the field, such as Blurring the Truth. Disinformation in Southeast Europe. He is the author of analyses published by Hive-mind, Larics, Scena9 and Revista 22.
